Holiday Helpers is a seasonal program that brings the spirit of Christmas to underprivileged families, ensuring they experience the joy and warmth of the season.

Services Included:

• Gift-Giving Program for Children: Making sure every child has a present to open on Christmas.

• Community Holiday Event: Festive events for the whole family to enjoy.

WE’RE BRINGING THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT TO DISADVANTAGED KIDS!

Because we believe that EVERY child deserves to have joy-filled, magical, holiday memories.

Parents or legal guardians of Tally area children who are receiving any form of public assistance are able to receive FREE holiday gifts for their children.

Unlike many nonprofits that distribute holiday gifts to disadvantaged children, Uplift allows parents to choose which toys and gifts they want to give their children and to give them to them however and whenever they choose. For last few years, parents were invited to come to our site, and pick up donated toys and clothing. In an effort to keep our staff, volunteers and the families we serve safe during the pandemic, Gift a Child Holiday Aid Program has gone digital! Now parents can register their children, upload proof of benefits, and pick up gifts at our assigned location.

Holiday Helpers provides toys & food for Christmas to hundreds of children in Tallahassee, Florida. Families come to a Christmas party where kids see Santa, enjoy fun activities, & visit the Secret Santa Shop. All of this will be in a fun & safe environment to celebrate Christmas.

This year, we're expecting more than 300 families to attend Gift a Child. In order to provide Christmas to those families, it will take:

100 gifts for the Secret Santa Shop

This is insurmountable for any one person or organization to provide on their own. Please review the list below and see how you, your family or your business may be able to play a part in meeting this tremendous need. If you would like to sign your business up as a collection point for toys or food, then please contact us.

We need new, unwrapped toys ($20 value and up) for boys and girls of all ages. Some suggestions by age and gender include:

BOYS

  • 0-6mo – Infant toys (6 mo and under), blankets, soft toys

  • 1-2 – Puzzles, soft cars/trucks

  • 5-7 – Trios Lego’s, Stomp Rockets, Nerf guns, Hot wheel kits, Bakugan, Spy gear, Minecraft

  • 8-11 – Lego’s, Nerf football Vortex, Spy Gear, Hex bugs, Science sets

  • 12-15 – Baseball gloves/ball/bats, Soccer balls, gift cards,

  • 16-18 – Footballs, hoodies, gift cards, electronic dartboards, movies, wallets, Deodorant/shaving kits

GIRLS

  • 0-6mo – Infant toys (6 mo and under), blankets, soft toys

  • 2-4 – Puzzles, dolls, Barbies, princess stuff, crafts, dress-up clothes

  • 5-7 – Crafts, Zhu Zhu pets, Dress-up clothes, Polly Pockets, Monster High stuff

  • 8-11 - “Make it yourself” spa kits, bracelets kits, Jewelry, starter makeup kits

  • 12-15 – Diaries/Journals, makeup, jewelry, pillows, cute room accessories, picture frames, slippers

  • 16-18 – Jewelry, Makeup, Pillows, room accessories, Movies, Bath/Body sets, picture frames, purses/wallets, slippers

  • Gift card ideas for both boys and girls include pizza, iTunes, bowling and skating.

Secret Santa

We want to introduce Secret Santa for Parents. We want to make this program for every child who attends to go to Santa's workshop and choose a gift for their parents, all the while, their parents are picking up their gifts.

For Santa’s Workshop we need unwrapped men’s and women’s items for kids to give as gifts to their parents and grandparents.

Suggested items for women includes:

• scarf & glove sets.
